All Recovery

I Bought a Toshiba Satellite L505D-S5965 that had Windows Vista preinstalled and it came with the Windows 7 upgrade. Before I installed Windows 7 in my os I downloaded my recovery disc on a cd when I had Windows Vista. Can I use the same recovery disk if my Laptop is corrupted or will it not work?

I have a Hp Pavilion DV9000 series 17 notebook. It says it has 105 gigs with 67.8 gigs free space on the C drive. I’m trying to find out where all of the additional room is since it doesn’t add up. I have done searches and it shows 6.58 gigs on the D drive (HP recovery) and 3 gigs in the windows folder. Program files says 12.58 gigs.

Hard drive C : 105.00
HP Rec D : – 6.58
Windows : – 3.00
Prog Files : -12.00

82.84 gigs left. My system says it’s 67.8 gigs so where is it.

I have been having blue screen of death syndrome quite frequently. I was told it creates huge dump files which can be deleted but i cant find them.

Any ideas? Thanks!
