how can i make a system recovery disk onto a cd?

If you don’t have any way to copy a recovery file, no, floppy. What about CD or DVD? You could and probably should copy it to those instead of a floppy.
Depending on what computer your using, it’s possible that it might a have a feature that enables to you make recovery CDs. I have two Sony VAIO’s, and both have recovery wizard in the control panel which lets me burn recovery CDs.
