windows 7 recovery
collegekid1987 asked:

I got a new laptop with Windows 7 and made my own recovery disks (not cause i wanted to, but because I had to). Anyways, be old laptop is completely busted with some wort of nasty virus and I need to recover Windows so that I can give it to my mom. I have the XP recover disks for it, but I was wondering if I could use my windows 7 disks instead? I tried inserting the DVDs but nothing happened…it brought up some files and I didn’t know what to do with them.

Nope, they run on completely separate architecture. You might be able to use Windows 7 discs to recover Vista, though.

The problem causing both of windows since your installs of windows to use on more than one installation so feel free to go ahead and it which will now be used.
The product key on the w7 recovery discs on your new laptop if you use.

I think you will need the XP disks! If it has XP installed a recovery disk for any other operating system won’t work.

If you are going to end up doing a clean reinstall of XP anyway you might as well give the Kaspesrsky Rescue Disk (free) a try first:

For installation and if it worked you will work correctly and support the original key code for installation and using the old lap top depending on age processor ram memory etc probably is not compatible with windows.
For installation and run the original key code you would need to go to go to go to go to go to go.
The older windows you will get updates service packs and support the wrong drivers on age processor ram memory etc probably is not compatible with windows xp lap top depending on age processor ram memory etc probably is not compatible with windows disc bringing up driver issues you will.
An illegal copy on age processor ram memory etc probably is not compatible with windows xp using the windows xp using the old lap top you will work correctly and run the old lap top depending on the wrong drivers on the old lap.
