i accidentally deleted absolutely everything off of my hard drive and a system recovery disk restored it but?

i accidentally wiped everything from my hardrive with drive scrubber even the operating system and put a system recovery disk in and my computer was useable again, i tried to put windows xp professional disk in it and it wouldnt work so i had to order a system recovery disk from the factory which took a month why wouldnt the windows xp professional disk work but the recovery disk worked just fine.

    if it doesn’t work, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s broken…..
